"Real Madrid could take him" – Journalist confident player set to leave Newcastle United

Over the past few months, the Italian media have continued their campaign to convince themselves Sandro Tonali is set for a Newcastle United exit.
While his agent Beppe Riso has shut down talk of a transfer, the rumours never really go away. Juventus were mentioned as a potential destination for the midfielder last week and now there’s another claim.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has now said Tonali could leave Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
In a chat with Sky Italia’s programme L’Originale, Di Marzio also stated that there will be international interest in the Italian.
He said, as relayed by SpazioMilan: "I don’t know if he could return to Italy in June, but I think Tonali will leave Newcastle: I think there could also be an important international market for him."
Speaking further, Di Marzio also stated that Real Madrid could come calling for the 24-year-old, who may also interest Manchester City.
"I wouldn’t be surprised if Real Madrid could take him, but City could do it too. Sandro is a player who, beyond a possible return to Italy – because he could be happy to return – could have an international outlet on the market."
This is Tonali’s first full season at Newcastle United because he was banned due to gambling issues last season.
After starting in a central midfield role, he has now become a solid defensive midfielder and that has transformed Newcastle United’s season.
It shows how vital a player he is for the club and losing him would be a massive blow to Eddie Howe’s side.
