Eden Hazard enjoyed some incredible moments in Chelsea colours when facing off against Tottenham.

Even though the now-retired forward won the big trophies during his days at Chelsea, he is perhaps best known for the role he played in ‘The Battle at the Bridge’.

Tottenham, under the stewardship of Mauricio Pochettino, were vying for the Premier League title at the time, but their dropped points against their London rivals handed the title keys to shock winners, Leicester City.

It was Hazard who came off the bench to spark the comeback and score the crushing equalising goal for his opponents, with Son Heung-min at the other end. – Tottenham’s clashes with Chelsea always seemed more fierce.

Whilst the expert ball-carrier struggled at Real Madrid with injuries and fitness issues before retiring, there were many iconic moments he produced in the Premier League and it really boosted his status.

With two Premier League titles, two Europa Leagues, a League Cup and an FA Cup to his name, there is a reason why Hazard is a Chelsea legend.

But it seems as though Spurs captain Son values and regards him much higher, which came as a shock to the Champions League winner with Real Madrid.

Hazard was told that Son thinks he is ‘the best footballer’ when talking ahead of a legends game and that left him surprised.

The 33-year-old added ‘that’s really good’ and ‘nice to hear about’, as he told Shoot for Love.

Son Heung-min regards Eden Hazard as the best

Presenter: “Heung-min Son, once he was asked, who he thinks is the best footballer. He said ‘Eden Hazard’.”

Hazard responded: “Nah, really?!” The presenter then added: “He did really. You didn’t know about this?”

A surprised Hazard then stated: “There are so many better players than me. I am one of them – that’s really good. Nice to hear about it. Wow.”

Chelsea and Tottenham rivalry

The north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham is the one many think that is the most fiercely contested in London.

But Chelsea against Tottenham seems to have a different edge, and dare it be said, it’s an even bigger rivalry, in terms of the hate between the two.
