Arsenal are expected to fight it out with Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool are sitting top of the table, Manchester City are the champions and others see Arsenal as favourites now that Rodri has suffered a season-ending injury.

As many saw during Arsenal’s dramatic 2-2 draw against Manchester City last month, there isn’t much love lost between the players.

But Jamie Carragher feels there is one player amongst the ranks at the Emirates that not even rivals can dislike.

This comes after Arsenal saw off PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday night to put up their first win on the board after drawing 0-0 against Atalanta in their opening game.

Kai Havertz was scoring again for Arsenal, whilst Bukayo Saka was continuing to show the world why he belongs at the top level.

Carragher thinks Saka is the one who, even as a rival, you simply ‘can’t dislike’ because of his humble nature off the pitch.

The Liverpool legend labelled Saka as ‘really, really special’ and why he falls into the unique quality in world football.

Arsenal have one of the best defences in Europe, but one of the main reasons behind that is the work the forward players put in.

Carragher thinks it’s rare for someone like Saka to be such a top player and also put in so much graft when you usually get it from players who perhaps ‘lack a bit of quality’ going forward, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (01/05/24 at 10:25 pm).

Why Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka isn’t disliked by rivals

"I think there are certain players, even at your rival clubs that you can't dislike," said Carragher.

"I think Saka is one of them players, who just falls into that category, you find it very difficult to (dislike), even if you are Manchester City or Liverpool, who have been challenging for the title with them in the last couple of years.

"Normally, when you have players who work like that (defensively always doing his work). At times, they work like that because they lack a bit of quality (going forward). To get a player to work like that who also has the quality to do it at the other end, that's when you know you have something really, really special."

Can Bukayo Saka fire Arsenal to the Premier League title?

Arsenal fans are craving that Premier League title and Saka is going to be one of the main players to get them there, if it happens.

One of the first names on the teamsheet, he isn’t just growing on the Premier League stage, but in Europe also.

From his 11 Champions League games, he has five goals and four assists, which proves that he is starting to motor and prove his worth right at the top level.

Many question if he is world-class, well, if he starts winning the trophies, then no one can argue.
