Reece James and Moises Caicedo react to Nicolas Jackson Chelsea message
Yesterday at 12:55 PM
Nicolas Jackson sent a message to Chelsea fans on social media following the team's 3-1 victory over Wolves in the Premier League.
The Blues initially took the lead through Tosin Adarabioyo, but Wolves equalised before half-time. Matt Doherty capitalised on a mistake by Robert Sanchez.
In the second half, Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke scored the crucial goals to secure all three points.
Although it marked Jackson's sixth consecutive game without a goal, he still took to Instagram to celebrate the hard-earned victory. He wrote: "We keep going” accompanied by a blue heart emoji.
Captain Reece James showed his support by liking the post, while Moises Caicedo added his encouragement with blue heart emojis in the comments.
Chelsea need Nicolas Jackson firing to recover lost points
Enzo Maresca's side ended their five-match winless streak in the Premier League with their recent victory.
Jackson has been the Italian coach's preferred choice to start in the league, making 20 starts in 22 games.
He has rewarded that trust with nine goals and four assists, but his form has dipped recently, leaving him without a goal in his last six matches.
The manager's faith in the striker has limited opportunities for other forwards, such as Christopher Nkunku. The Frenchman has struggled for game time and has been linked by fans to a potential move to Man United.
Despite Jackson's strong start to the season, his current goal drought has coincided with Maresca's team failing to capitalise on favourable fixtures, with losses to Fulham and Ipswich, as well as draws against Everton and Bournemouth.
Football Insider Verdict
It's telling that Maresca continues to back Jackson despite his poor form
With options like Nkunku, Marc Guiu, and Joao Felix available, the decision to persist with Jackson highlights the manager's belief in the 23-year-old.
That trust could be key to rebuilding his confidence in front of goal and may explain his upbeat demeanour on social media.
