Reece James responds as 'gutted' Chelsea star ruled out for season

Chelsea captain Reece James has responded to one of his teammates after a season ending hamstring injury.
James himself has suffered a number of muscular injuries in recent years, and has only been fit enough to make eight Premier League starts this season.
This has led some Chelsea fans to call for James to be sold, with his lack of availability a major concern.
However, that has not stopped former Blues boss, and current England manager, Thomas Tuchel from calling up James for the German’s first games in charge of the national side.
Omari Kellyman’s ‘tough season’ ended by injury
Omari Kellyman joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in the summer, for £19million [BBC Sport], but the midfielder has been blighted by muscle injuries in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
The youngster posted a message on Instagram after his latest injury, captioned: “Beyond gutted to say that this season has come to an early end for me due to a reinjury of my hamstring, despite only just returning after having hamstring issues for a massive part of this season.
“24/25 has been a tough season for me mentally and physically due to injury but it's important now that I take time to get this right and come out the other side stronger and better ready for what next season brings.”
James then responded with a love-heart emoji, showing support for the England U19 international, having suffered similar issues.
Reece James could be a key piece for Enzo Maresca in new role
Football Insider Verdict
James always seems to be on his way out of Chelsea, until the England international has a run of games back in the side, and then we are all reminded of why he is held in such high regard in the footballing world.
Glenn Hoddle suggested James must play five games in a row for the Blues when they were enduring their toughest run of the season, critiquing Enzo Maresca for changing his side too frequently.
The Italian manager has done exactly that, and whilst Chelsea’s form has stayed relatively stagnant, the former Wigan loanee has impressed.
However, the interesting thing to note is, James is a world-class right-back, but the rigours of the position have taken their toll on him physically.
Maresca has seemingly found a solution, the England international has been moved inside to play in midfield, resulting in his best run of games this season, both in terms of performance, and longevity.
Should he continue to stay fit, Chelsea will undoubtedly benefit from his tactical awareness, natural talents both offensively and defensively, and his on-pitch leadership.
