Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both been linked with a host of players as they look to get their mixed seasons back on track.

Neither Arsenal nor Tottenham are where they want to be in the Premier League table, although they are faring better in some of the cup competitions.

For instance, the Gunners are flying in the Champions League, while Spurs are doing well in the Europa League, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.

Defensive reinforcements could be on the cards and, according to Florian Plettenberg, a left-back linked with both North London clubs could be available for just £5million.

Arsenal and Tottenham target Daniel Svensson valued at £5-6million

The player in question is Daniel Svensson, who is being watched by a multitude of Premier League clubs.

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey reported ahead of the January transfer window that Arsenal and Tottenham were watching Svensson.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Brentford are also eyeing the Nordsjaelland left-back.

Plettenberg reported, as per colleague Philipp Hinze, that Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are also monitoring Svensson.

Plettenberg said the 22-year-old “could become an interesting option for the summer” for Leipzig, with informal talks having taken place.

The Sky Sport Germany journalist then said Svensson – who is also on Leeds United’s radar – is valued at €6-7million (£5-6million).

What could Svensson bring to Arsenal or Tottenham?

Svensson has already made 153 appearances for Nordsjaelland, registering a very impressive 20 assists plus eight goals. He has also won one Sweden cap.

He seems to possess the tactical flexibility and the physical and athletic talents required to thrive in the Premier League.

"It is quite unique to be able to do so many things as a footballer," Nordsjaelland team-mate Jeppe Tverskov told Tipsbladet. "And, luckily for him, he is extremely good at all those things.

"Sometimes, you see that if you can do a bit of everything, you end up being a reserve. But [Svensson] doesn't because he is so good. He is a machine. He has a strong body and can run a lot.

“During the time when we played almost every three days, there were many who played many minutes. The only difference was that, in every eternal fight, he had 13 kilometres in him. It is very impressive.”

Meanwhile, Whoscored noted how Svensson has been likened to versatile Real Madrid starlet Eduardo Camavinga.

‘Combined with his ability to play left-back, Camavinga is a very important player for both club and country, and one who’ll only improve in time,’ they wrote.

”Svensson is similar in that regard. The Swede is able to operate in central midfield, defensive midfield and at left-back, with his positional adaptability part of the reason why he has cropped up on Liverpool’s radar.’
