Report: Arsenal could try and sign striker who Thierry Henry called 'special' if they can't get Dusan Vlahovic

Arsenal would love to sign a new striker in the January transfer window.
The Gunners have always been short of options in that area of the pitch, but things got worse after Gabriel Jesus ruptured his ACL and is set to be out for the rest of the season.
Arsenal are in desperate need of a prolific goalscorer now, and TBR Football revealed recently that Mikel Arteta has five strikers on his shortlist.
One of them is Dusan Vlahovic, but there’s now another player Arsenal could target if they fail to land the Juventus star.
Arsenal could make a move for Elye Wahi if Dusan Vlahovic deal becomes impossible
Vlahovic has been a target for Arsenal for a long, long time.
The Gunners have had him on their radar since he was at Fiorentina, and they could finally have the chance to sign him in this window.
TBR can confirm that Juventus are open to letting Vlahovic leave this month, but not on a straight loan. The deal either has to include an obligation-to-buy clause or has to be a permanent move.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal can strike a deal on those terms, but the Gunners do have a backup in case a move for Vlahovic doesn’t work out.
CaughtOffside claim that Marseille striker Elye Wahi is on Arsenal’s list of targets, and they could make a move for him if Juventus make it too hard for them to sign Vlahovic.
Wahi joined Roberto De Zerbi’s side last summer, but he has had a difficult season. He has played just 595 minutes of football in all competitions and has scored three goals.
TBR revealed this week that West Ham United are interested in signing Wahi, who could be available on a loan deal in this window.
What Thierry Henry has said about Elye Wahi
Wahi made a great name for himself when he was at Lens.
The Frenchman scored 12 goals and provided four assists for Les Sang et in the 2023/24 campaign, including a goal and an assist against Arsenal in the Champions League.
Wahi was brilliant against the Gunners and helped Lens beat them 2-1. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was blown away by his display.
Speaking on CBS Sports (03/10/23 at 10:00 pm), the French icon said: “This guy you see on the screen had a hell of a finish on the second goal!
“Elye is special. Lens loves to play with their wing-backs – we are going to talk about how he stayed away from Saliba.
"You will see that you don't need to break your neck. He will beat you to the first post. Stay in a good position between the two lines, Frankowski sees it and Wahi does that to a tee. He can finish so well."
