Arsenal are looking to strengthen their attacking ranks this January and have reportedly made a concrete move to sign one of Mikel Arteta’s long-term targets.
The Gunners have been thrown into a dire situation with Bukayo Saka being ruled out until March and Gabriel Jesus being stretchered off against Man United this past weekend.
With Arsenal already looking at new options before those two went down injured, Mikel Arteta will now be hoping his board back him before January ends.
And according to a report from Football Transfers, Arsenal have indeed made their move.
Arsenal make first offer for Dusan Vlahovic
According to the report, Arsenal have made a move to sign Dusan Vlahovic in the last few days with a view to taking him on loan from Juventus.
Vlahovic is a long-term target for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta. With a number nine seen as ideal for the Gunners, the Serbian’s arrival would be more than welcome right now.
As expected, Juventus have rejected the offer from Arsenal for Vlahovic.
However, it’s noted that Juventus are not ruling out letting Vlahovic go before the end of the month as they continue to weigh up their own options.
Furthermore, Arsenal’s focus in the number nine area is still on Benjamin Sesko, a player they missed out on in the summer window.
Vlahovic offered to Manchester United
Dusan Vlahovic is a name who’s been mentioned in the last few transfer windows and he very nearly signed for Arsenal a few windows back.
However, this year, as revealed by TBR Football, Juventus have actually offered Vlahovic in a swap deal with Man United forward Joshua Zirkzee.
With that in mind, it is clear that Juve are open to doing business for the striker and that will very much encourage Arsenal as the window carries on.
Vlahovic has scored 12 goals in his 24 Juventus appearances this season, showing very much he can be a goal threat for the Gunners.
