Arsenal have a lot of work to do if they are to get firmly back in the Premier League title picture.
A host of injuries have led to a downturn in form for the Gunners, who are now nine points off the top of the table.
With the January transfer window now on the horizon, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta may well look at making some additions to his squad.
Now, according to CaughtOffside, the Gunners are keeping tabs on a young Swedish midfielder who has been likened to Frank Lampard.

Arsenal sent scouts to watch Celta Vigo’s Williot Swedberg
The player in question is Williot Swedberg, who plays for Spanish side Celta Vigo and represents Sweden at international level.
Arsenal are reported to have sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old midfielder in action this season, though Newcastle United are said to have done the same.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Inter, Real Sociedad, Real Betis, Roma and Villarreal are also looking at Swedberg, according to the report.
However, Arsenal and Newcastle are thought to be the only clubs that have sent scouts to watch the player live in action.
Arsenal are said to be looking at a number of players ahead of next year. One report says Arsenal have a 'concrete interest' in West Ham’s Mohamed Kudus.
Who is Arsenal target Williot Swedberg?
Swedberg was born on 1 February 2004 in Stockholm and began his football journey with Sickla IF in Sweden.
In 2011, he joined the Hammarby IF academy and broke into the first-team in 2020, making 40 appearances and registering eight goals and two assists.
Swedberg also took in loans at IK Frej Taby and Hammarby TFF before sealing a move to Celta Vigo for around £3.5million in 2022.
The 6ft 1in playmaker has made 39 competitive appearances for the Spanish side, registering seven goals and four assists to date.
According to Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig, Swedberg is a ‘complete midfielder naturally adept in several positions who is capable of aiding his team offensively as well as defensively’.
Kulig also likened the reported Arsenal target to Frank Lampard and gave him a potential rating of 9 out of 10.
In 2021, The Guardian named Swedberg in their list of the 60 best youngsters in world football, saying he has ‘great technique and his passing is top class.’
