Report: Chelsea have now made contact to sign player Arsenal sold for just £7m in July

Chelsea are looking to offload some players in the winter transfer window.

TBR Football understand Aston Villa have asked about Axel Disasi as Enzo Maresca looks to move the France international on before the February 3rd transfer deadline.

Furthermore, Christopher Nkunku could also leave Chelsea this month, having started only three Premier League games so far this season.

Sources have informed TBR Football that Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are keen to sign Nkunku – who Chelsea value at £65m.

Now – during talks to offload Cesare Casadei to Lazio – Chelsea have asked about Nuno Tavares.

Chelsea make Nuno Tavares enquiry

A story from Alfredo Pedulla now states that Chelsea have enquired about the Portugal international.

The Italian journalist claims that the Blues asked for information about Tavares during talks to offload Casadei, with Pedulla adding that he feels Chelsea were enquiring for a summer move instead of a transfer now.

It is said that Lazio would not consider selling the 24-year-old this month anyway, after he quickly became a vital player for the Italian giants, barring a truly irresistible offer.

Tavares has impressively provided eight assists in just 16 Serie A appearances so far this season from left-back, proving himself as one of the most attacking defenders in Europe.

Arsenal just sold Nuno Tavares

If Chelsea end up signing the man born in Lisbon and he becomes a superstar, Arsenal will kick themselves.

Tavares is on loan from Arsenal at Lazio, although the Gunners have technically sold the Portuguese defender, having negotiated a £7m obligation for Lazio to buy him at the end of the season.

Just to clarify, that is not an option to buy for Lazio, but an obligation.

Tavares has broken records in Italy this season, so it should come as no surprise to hear that Chelsea are interested.
