Everton are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this month in hope of giving their Premier League survival chances a boost.
The Toffees have scored just 18 goals in the Premier League this season, the second-lowest in the division.
Everton have been linked with Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah in recent days, but the deal is said to have stalled. The Toffees have also been linked with Monaco’s Breel Embolo.
Now, it has been reported that Everton are eyeing a £12million winger who Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim said is ‘one of the best’ between the lines.

Everton make contact over Sporting CP’s Marcus Edwards
The player in question is Sporting CP’s Marcus Edwards and, according to CaughtOffside, Everton have asked Sporting about the conditions of signing him.
The outlet claims Edwards has a ‘rocky relationship’ with Sporting head coach Rui Borges, and he has been struggling for game time.
Edwards was left out of his side's travelling squad to face RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The report claims Sporting are open to selling him for €12million (£10million), with 35% of the value going to Tottenham, his former club.
If Edwards is not sold in January, the club will reportedly look to sell him at the end of the season.
The plaudits Edwards has received and what he could bring to Everton
Edwards came through the ranks at Tottenham and, as a youngster, he was tipped for a huge future in the game.
Mauricio Pochettino likened Edwards to Lionel Messi and backed him to potentially become a top player.
Meanwhile, Spurs defender and former Sporting teammate Pedro Porro called Edwards "extraordinary".
Back in 2022, Ruben Amorim – then manager of Sporting – told Sky Sports: "Marcus is a very talented player.
"He's one of the best players for playing between the lines. He took a little while to adapt to the Portuguese lifestyle but he has so much talent. He can get much better."
Amorim continued: "He can even get to the English national team. He has to focus more on training and all that is around it. Football is not just matches, it's everything in between.
"I trust him a lot. I know he can grow a lot. He has a long way to go but I think we did excellent business in signing him."
