Aaron Ramsdale left Arsenal for Southampton this summer, and he'd have every right to feel peeved about the way he was treated at the Emirates.

Indeed, just a few months after Ramsdale made the Premier League Team of the Season, he was dropped in favour of David Raya.

To make matters worse, Mikel Arteta publicly discussed the idea of rotating his goalkeepers and even substituting them within games.

Of course, it didn't pan out like that as Raya started almost every game last season.

Ramsdale would eventually leave Arsenal, and while he would have every right to be bitter about his treatment, he's reportedly not sour at all.

How Aaron Ramsdale feels about Mikel Arteta

Ramsdale may no longer be an Arsenal player, but he's apparently still on good terms with his former manager.

Indeed, the Evening Standard report that there is no bad blood between Arteta and Ramsdale and they have even remained on speaking terms since Ramsdale's departure.

Southampton face Arsenal this weekend, and while Ramsdale and Arteta are friendly, there's no way the goalkeeper is going to do his former boss any favours.

What Aaron Ramsdale has said about Mikel Arteta

Ramsdale and Arteta are still friendly, and Ramsdale has even spoken about this in the past.

Ramsdale told TalkSPORT last month that he and Arteta remain on good terms.

"I only spoke to him last week. What he did for me in my time at Arsenal I can only thank him for, and he thanked me for my contribution, not just myself but as a football club, getting back into the Champions League, pushing for a trophy.

"Ultimately, as manager's do and top manager's do, they have to make decisions which will upset people. He made that decision and we still speak.

"I'm obviously looking forward to getting some games under my belt here and we have Arsenal in a few weeks which will be a nice return."

Ramsdale may have mixed emotions heading into the Arsenal game this weekend, and he'll surely want to put in a standout performance to prove to his former club that they made the wrong decision in replacing him.

Don't be surprised if Ramsdale puts in a stellar performance against his former club this weekend.
