Arsenal have spent the last few years building a superb squad but could end up being on the receiving end of things as Real Madrid keep their eyes on star defender, William Saliba.

Saliba is reportedly wanted by Madrid as they look to continue to be top dogs in Europe by landing the best players.

As we know, Madrid signed Saliba’s French teammate and world superstar, Kylian Mbappe, in the summer.

Their interest in Saliba, then, is bound to worry some Arsenal fans.

However, according to reports, Arsenal are completely unbothered by interest from Spain when it comes to their star man.

Arsenal confident of keeping William Saliba away from Real Madrid

According to a report from The Mirror, Real Madrid are indeed tracking Saliba and are very much keen on the Frenchman.

However, it’s reported that Arsenal are ‘unfazed’ by reports of Madrid’s interest and feel they have got the upper hand when it comes to keeping Saliba.

The Gunners believe Saliba’s new contract, in addition to the fact he is settled and a key member of the first-team squad, gives them the advantage in keeping him.

Saliba is also believed to be an Arsenal fan at heart, giving the Gunners even more confidence in keeping their man.

Saliba has built a fine partnership alongside Gabriel and as it stands, Arsenal are very much in contention to finally pinch the Premier League title from Man City.

Arsenal have to keep Saliba

Every player has a price in football but if Arsenal are serious about what they’re trying to achieve under Mikel Arteta, then William Saliba has to remain as part of the project.

Saliba’s star has got brighter and brighter in recent seasons and it’s easy to see why Madrid want him.

But Arsenal are a club on the up and with titles and trophies within touching distance, losing Saliba would be devastating.

Right now, Saliba would also be best served on a personal level remaining in London, such is his stature and position at the club.
