Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of keeping hold of Pedro Porro have been boosted by Real Madrid’s latest transfer plans for the January window.

Madrid have shown an interest in signing Porro with the Spurs defender one of the names on their list to replace the injured Dani Carvajal.

TBR Football understands that Tottenham are offering Porro a new contract having been made aware of interest from the 15-time European champions.

However, the North London club’s hopes of keeping hold of the Spaniard have been given a major boost by Madrid’s latest transfer decision.

Liverpool are beginning to accept that Trent Alexander-Arnold will not renew his contract and Real Madrid could move for him in January, according to Marca.

Los Blancos are looking to accelerate plans to sign a new right-back following an ACL injury suffered by Carvajal which has ended his season.

Porro is another target for the Spanish giants, however, given Alexander-Arnold’s situation at Liverpool, Madrid could prioritise a move for the Englishman.

Porro impressed the Spanish media in action for the national team which will certainly have caught the eye of the club from the Spanish capital, but for now, Tottenham seem to be safe with Madrid looking elsewhere.

Djed Spence renews Tottenham contract

Djed Spence has renewed his contract with Tottenham to complete an amazing turnaround over the last 12 months. The defender has signed a new deal until 2028 which is quite something given Spence was expected to leave Tottenham over the summer.

Over the last two years, Spence has made just 10 appearances for the North London club and has been out on three different loan spells. But now he is back at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and is a key squad player for Ange Postecoglou.

The 24-year-old will be hoping to secure some starts in the upcoming run of matches as Spurs face four matches in the space of 11 days.
