Report: Leeds monitoring 'electric' attacker with 10 goal involvements in Championship last season

According to a recent report, Leeds are keeping tabs on a promising winger this summer transfer window.

The Whites could hardly get any closer to securing promotion last term, falling to a 1-0 defeat to Southampton in the play-off final after missing out on a top-two finish.

But, they must quickly forget that and place their full focus on the fast-approaching season with automatic promotion their sole ambition.

As they look to assemble a squad capable of challenging at the summit, the club have been looking at the potential signing of a former Preston North End player.

Leeds eyeing Liam Millar

According to The Atheltic, Leeds United are keeping tabs on Basel winger Liam Millar, who spent last season on loan at Preston North End.

The 26-cap Canada international, who has been labelled ‘electric’ by Steven Gerrard (HITC), netted five times whilst laying on as many assists for the Championship outfit last term, including a wondergoal against the West Yorkshire club.

The 24-year-old has one year remaining on his deal at the Swiss club and it has emerged that he has a release clause.

As such, a summer departure is near certain, with Leeds looking the most likely destination at this stage.

Liam Millar to replace Crysencio Summerville

Crysencio Summerville is set to leave Leeds United this summer with Brighton and Hove Albion seriously looking at him.

Millar, who is also a right-footed left winger, seems to be one of the candidates to replace him along with Jonathan Rowe, who has been mooted.

The Norwich wideman struck 12 times last term despite suffering an injury but his potential arrival would require a significant sum of cash to be outlaid – which Leeds may not be able to do.
