Liverpool have one of the best attacking rosters in the Premier League, but things could soon change at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah is in the final year of his Liverpool contract, while there were murmurs a few months ago that Darwin Nunez wasn't too happy at Anfield.

With those situations bubbling away in the background, Liverpool do have their eye on the attacking market, and they do have their eye on a number of strikers.

According to Caught Offside, Viktor Gyokeres is a player Liverpool appreciate.

Meanwhile, the Reds are also said to be fans of Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, but as you may imagine, a deal for Watkins isn't going to be easy.

Liverpool like Ollie Watkins

Caught Offside say that Liverpool are admirers of Watkins, but this move is seen as unrealistic.

Indeed, Liverpool don't think there's much chance of Watkins coming to Anfield anytime soon due to his current contract situation and his pricetag.

It's easy to see why Liverpool are such massive fans of Watkins. The England international was brilliant for Villa last season, and he certainly has what it takes to lead the line for a club like Liverpool.

Unfortunately, for more reasons than one, this deal doesn't seem logical.

Ollie Watkins to Liverpool isn't likely

Liverpool believe internally that this deal would be very difficult to do, and, in all honesty, it doesn't make tons of sense either.

Liverpool's transfer policy has largely been centred around signing younger players who are just about to enter their primes, rather than players who are already the finished product and would cost a fortune.

Watkins' stock is the highest it has ever been at the moment, and with the striker turning 29 later this year, he probably won't retain that value in the long-term.

Watkins is a fantastic player who would be a great addition to this Liverpool squad, but, in a lot of ways, this move doesn't make sense.
