Liverpool made just one signing during the summer transfer window.

Federico Chiesa was Arne Slot’s only signing, though, he did try to bring in Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

It’s thought Liverpool also wanted to bring in a centre-back, particularly after Joel Matip’s departure upon the expiry of his contract.

With that said, it’s just come to light that the club have now identified a potential replacement for Virgil van Dijk ahead of the January transfer window.

Liverpool interested in Loic Bade

Virgil van Dijk is out of contract next summer, so there is a great deal of uncertainty around his future at the club.

So, Liverpool have now begun the process of finding his potential successor and according to CaughtOffside, Sevilla’s Loic Bade, who’s been labelled a ‘colossus’ per HITC, is a player of interest.

The scouting team have been instructed to keep tabs on Bade from now until the end of the season, though, they aren’t the only clubs monitoring him.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on the 24-year-old, who has a £42m release clause in his contract.

Liverpool should also consider Marc Guehi

Alongside Bade, Liverpool should also consider signing Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The Reds were linked with Guehi in the summer, so he’s clearly a player who Arne Slot admirers.

Newcastle are expected to go back in for the England international in Janaury, so if Liverpool are to land his signature, they’ll need to ready a bid in excess of £70m.
