Liverpool have one of the strongest squads in the Premier League, but it seems that manager Arne Slot wants more quality.
Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo are the main attacking options for Slot at the moment.
Liverpool have scored 21 goals in 11 Premier League matches so far this season, but it seems that Slot is keen on adding more firepower to his squad.
According to TuttoJuve, Liverpool are interested in signing Rayan Cherki from Lyon in the January transfer window.
Liverpool facing Chelsea competition for Rayan Cherki
The Merseyside club have reportedly made an offer of €20 million (£17 million) for the winger.
Chelsea have also made the same offer for Cherki, who was linked with Liverpool last summer and is on the radar of Juventus as well.
Lyon are in turmoil at the moment. The French club have been banned from making any transfers in January and provisionally relegated from Ligue 1 at the end of the season because of financial issues.
Rayan Cherki has been compared to Eden Hazard
Cherki is one of the best young players around. He is 21 years old and can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.
The French youngster has scored one goal and given one assist in seven Ligue 1 matches and has scored one goal and provided two assists in four UEFA Europa League games for Lyon this season.
Cherki has been compared to former Chelsea and Real Madrid star Eden Hazard.
Speaking to TNT Sports in July 2023, French football expert Martin Mosnier said: "He's really an attacking midfielder although he can also play as a left winger.
"Cherki is an exceptional dribbler, one of the first things one notices when watching him is that he appears to be ambipedal, as he can seemingly utilise both feet equally well.
"His strengths are as follows: key passes, dribbling and his ability to create something out of nothing."
Mosnier added: "He could very well become a Premier League star like Eden Hazard, but I think it’s still too early for him to leave."
