Newcastle could be in for a busy summer.

TBR Football understand Liverpool plan to push hard for Alexander Isak after the Swede’s stunning 2024/25 campaign so far – in which he has netted 23 goals in 33 appearances.

Newcastle could also lose Bruno Guimaraes – a target for Arsenal.

However, even if significant departures do not happen, Eddie Howe should have a transfer budget large enough to make some exciting additions for Newcastle this summer – and an early deal to sign Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth is now in the works.

A story by Africa Foot now states that Newcastle have started negotiations to sign the Burkina Faso international.

Ouattara has impressed for the Cherries this season – helping them sit just five points off the top four with nine goals and four assists across all competitions.

The 23-year-old has also helped Bournemouth into the FA Cup quarter-finals with two goals in three FA Cup outings.

Africa Foot believe Newcastle and Bournemouth are in talks over a €40m (£33m) deal for Ouattara, with Howe particularly keen to sign a versatile forward.

The Bournemouth No.11 certainly ticks that box, having played on the left, right and also in the centre this season.

Africa Foot add that Aston Villa, Napoli and AC Milan are also admirers of Ouattara.

Newcastle could take another Bournemouth star this summer

As has happened to many exciting sides over the years – such as Southampton and Ajax – Bournemouth could be picked apart this summer.

Andoni Iraola – a target for Tottenham himself – has developed the likes of Milos Kerkez, Dean Huijsen, Ryan Christie, Antoine Semenyo, Justin Kluivert and Ouattara into fine footballers, although that has naturally led to interest from elsewhere.

TBR Football understand Newcastle like Huijsen as Howe aims to sign a new central defender too.

The Magpies also admire Marcus Tavernier – so Ouattara may not be the only Bournemouth player Newcastle sign this summer.
