Tottenham Hotspur vice-captain Cristian Romero’s future is up in the air.

The Argentine is one of the first names on Ange Postecoglou’s team sheet whenever he is fit, and he has produced some great performances for Spurs over the years.

However, Romero will enter the final two years of his contract this summer, and so far, there has been no agreement over an extension.

That has led to a lot of speculation about his future, with reports claiming that Tottenham are even ready to sell Romero once the transfer window opens.

Daniel Levy has lowered his demands to sell Tottenham star Cristian Romero

Romero has been regarded by Tottenham fans as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.

On his day, the 26-year-old has the ability to go toe-to-toe against most attackers in the country, and he has proved that as well for Spurs in recent years.

However, Romero has had injury issues this season, and he has made a few big errors whenever he has played as well.

That is probably why reports have claimed that Tottenham are ready to sell Romero in the summer transfer window, with Atletico Madrid keen to sign him.

GiveMeSport have now shared some more details on Spurs’ stance on their star defender.

The report claims that the North Londoners previously made it clear to interested clubs that they would demand more than £60 million for Romero.

Now, it has been revealed that Daniel Levy and Tottenham are likely to listen to offers in the region of £45 million after ‘lowering their demands’.

How much Atletico Madrid are willing to bid for Romero

Atletico Madrid have spent big money on signings over the years.

Their outrageous expenditure on the likes of Thomas Lemar and Joao Felix is proof of that, but their valuation of Romero will anger Tottenham fans.

The report claims that Atletico Madrid are hoping to negotiate a deal worth £33 million to sign Romero this summer, which falls well below Spurs’ valuation.

We can’t see a world in which Levy will agree to sell Romero for anything close to that figure this summer.

It remains to be seen if Atleti will meet Spurs’ demands.
