Report: Tottenham most likely English club to sign £17m 'superstar' who plays just like Luis Suarez

It feels like we can’t go a day without a fresh Tottenham transfer story and now the club are being linked with one of the top attacking talents in Italy.

Spurs are already active this summer having signed Timo Werner and Archie Gray but they want more.

Manager Ange Postecoglou openly spoke at the end of last season about the need to see change at the club and he’s now looking to oversee that big change this summer.

For Tottenham, there are a number of positions that need filling but one of the key aspects of their recruitment will be taking the pressure off Heung-Min Son up top.

Richarlison has struggled and faces an uncertain future, while the likes of Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski didn’t quite deliver last season in terms of numbers.

And now, according to reports, Tottenham are considered the most likely club to sign an Italian forward who has been linked with the Premier League for years.

Tottenham most likely to sign Federico Chiesa

According to a report from GiveMeSport, Chiesa could be on his way out of Juventus this summer.

And their report states that of all the clubs in England keen on Chiesa, Italian sources are suggesting that Tottenham are the most likely landing spot.

Interestingly, reports this week have claimed that Chiesa might even be allowed to leave for as little as £17m.

That sort of fee will tempt Tottenham and others to the table, given it wasn’t to long ago that Chiesa was being linked with a £52m move to Liverpool.

Lauded as a ‘superstar in his homeland, Chiesa played a key role in Italy winning the Euros back in 2021 but like the rest of the squad this year, struggled in Germany.

Chiesa though, is a top talent. Indeed, Joe Cole even compared his playing style to that of Luis Suarez, such was his impression a few seasons back.

Spurs fans, then, will be keen to see how this one plays out.
