Report: West Ham now actively working to sign 'outstanding' £30m forward wanted by Chelsea and Unai Emery

West Ham United are looking to make a big splash by strengthening their attack and could make a move for a player courted by Chelsea and Aston Villa.

The Hammers have a new manager in Julen Lopetegui and they’re hoping to give their new man as many new faces as possible.

West Ham have already been active in the window and made a big-money move to sign Max Kilman from Wolves, while Brazilian Luis Guilherme has also arrived alongside free-agent, Wes Foderingham.

Of course, with weeks of the window remaining it’s all hands to the pump for the Hammers recruitment team and board.

And now, according to reports, West Ham are actively trying to get a deal over the line for Leeds United hotshot, Crysencio Summerville.

West Ham trying to do deal to sign Crysencio Summerville

According to a report from CaughtOffside, West Ham are making a push to try and sign Summerville from Leeds.

It’s claimed the club are ‘actively pushing’ to make the deal happen as they look to strengthen the attacking ranks.

However, it won’t be easy for the Hammers to do a deal.

CaughtOffside report how Chelsea remain interested, while Aston Villa and Brighton are also teams who hold an interest in signing the Dutchman. Fulham, too, are also known admirers.

Leeds paid a nominal fee to bring Summerville in but are looking to fetch at least £30m if they do decide to sell this summer.

Lauded as an ‘outstanding‘ talent by Daniel Farke, Summerville took the Championship by storm last season before having a stinker in the playoff final as Leeds missed out on promotion.

Summerville, though, remains very much admired at Premier League level and a move before the deadline looks to be on the cards.

Leeds, of course, are under less pressure to sell after bringing in £40m for Archie Gray.

However, if the right bid comes in for Summerville, the 49ers ownership are expected to listen to offers.
