Manchester United defender Leny Yoro is currently recovering from a metatarsal injury he suffered in pre-season.

The Red Devils signed the 18-year-old in the summer in a deal reportedly worth around £59million.

However, Yoro is yet to make his competitive debut for Manchester United because of the injury.

After undergoing surgery on August 5, it was estimated that Yoro would be sidelined for at least three months.

However, journalist Ben Jacobs has now provided a positive update on the Frenchman’s recovery and how things are progressing behind the scenes.

Leny Yoro hopeful he’ll be fully fit for Manchester United in trip to Arsenal

Jacobs, writing on GiveMeSport, says Yoro is now doing gym work and has impressed those at Carrington with his attitude and determination to get match fit quicker than expected.

The defender has apparently earmarked a return to team training before the November international break and is itching to return, though the club won’t rush him back.

In addition, Yoro has reportedly told friends in private that he wants to be fully match-fit for Man United’s Premier League trip to Arsenal on 5 December.

Things seem to be on the right track and, if all continues to go well, Yoro could make his return to action earlier than anticipated, said Jacobs.

Positive update from Jacobs amid Man United injury crisis

It’s good to hear from Jacobs that Yoro is doing so well in his road back from injury.

Man United struck gold when they signed him this summer, as he was one of the most highly sought after teenagers on the market.

Hopefully Yoro will be fully fit and raring to go well before the end of the year and help get the Red Devils’ season back on track.

As for this weekend, Ten Hag will have just five defenders to pick from for this weekend’s meeting with Brentford.

None of those are left-backs, which means that Diogo Dalot may have to fill in on the left again.

However, that would mean the Portuguese would be vacating his role as the only available right-back.

Ten Hag may well be forced to leave Dalot in his natural position and move Lisandro Martinez to left-back, or even Jonny Evans.

As per talkSPORT, Noussair Mazraoui has joined Yoro, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia as absentees, with Harry Maguire also expected to be unavailable for selection.
