West Ham fans are presumably anxious amid rumours of a falling out between Mohammed Kudus and Julen Lopetegui.

There have been allegations that the Ghana international had to be separated from the Spaniard during the interval of Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Brentford, which left the Hammers 14th in the Premier League.

If true, that would obviously add salt to the wounds of West Ham fans, who have already lost plenty of enthusiasm for the 2024/25 campaign after a poor start, which has yielded just one win from six Premier League outings.

Now, West Ham insiders have sought to clarify the alleged situation between Julen Lopetegui and Mohammed Kudus

A story from The Athletic now seeks to provide some clarity on the allegations.

West Ham insiders claim that the situation has been blown entirely out of proportion, and there were no ill feelings when Kudus and Lopetegui engaged in training at Rush Green on Monday.

Sources state that it was “business as usual” in east London, with no bad blood on show.

The Athletic add that members of the hierarchy at West Ham have reached out to the West Ham No.14’s representatives to reassure them that no fallout has occurred between Lopetegui and Kudus, who Liverpool admire.

That will be music to the ears of West Ham fans everywhere, as it would be a nightmare if the Ghanaian became disillusioned at the London Stadium and asked to leave because of the 58-year-old.

Lopetegui has work to do with Kudus regardless

Even if these claims are true, and there has not been a fallout between the pair, Lopetegui needs to find a way to get Kudus firing again.

At this stage of the 2023/24 campaign, the man from Accra had already scored three goals for West Ham, and was delivering the type of scintillating performance which led Kudus to be valued at over £50m just weeks after arriving in a £38m move from Ajax in August 2023.

David Moyes clearly knew how to handle the 24-year-old effectively, as he scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in 48 appearances under the Scot last season.

Hopefully, Lopetegui can help Kudus return to those heights.
