Nottingham Forest are reportedly ready to make a club-record offer for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha.

Nottingham Forest, who are flying high in the Premier League this season, are among a number of English top-flight clubs interested in the Wolves ace.

TBR Football revealed just after Christmas that Cunha is a target for Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United.

Tottenham Hotspur are admirers of Cunha as well and were ready to hold talks with his agents over a move in this window.

Now, Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol has spoken about Forest’s concrete interest in Cunha, and why the player is also “very upset” at Wolves.

Matheus Cunha upset with Vitor Pereira criticism after Chelsea game

Solhekol, speaking on Sky Sports News, said Forest are now ready to make a club-record offer for Cunha.

It is thought that an offer of around £60million could be enough to tempt Wolves to sell this month.

Cunha's present deal runs out in 2027 and he has been offered a new Wolves contract, but is said to be unlikely to sign at the moment.

Solhekol reported that Cunha extremely upset that he was singled out for criticism by manager Vitor Pereira after Wolves lost at Chelsea on Monday night.

For context, Pereira said he did not like Cunha's body language during the game.

Cunha has a winning mentality and it’s only natural that he would feel down after another damaging defeat – he feels he did nothing wrong, according to Solhekol.

Cunha’s goal and assist record over the course of his club career

Cunha is a world-class, versatile attacking talent who has been used in a variety of roles at Wolves, including centre-forward and No. 10.

He is more than proven at Premier League level – along with other top leagues – and, at 25 years of age, he’s yet to enter his prime.
