Tottenham's owners have injected £35million into the club in the form of a new share issue, sources have told Football Insider.

A Companies House submission published on Wednesday (15 January) revealed Tottenham Hotspur Limited issued 5.8 million shares across two tranches between 13-31 December.

It confirmed 4.1 million shares were allotted at £6.10 per five pence share, while 1.7 million shares were allotted at £6 per five pence share, taking the overall total to £35million.

On the shareholder information page of the club's website, it shows ENIC has now marginally increased its shareholding from 86.58 per cent to 86.91 per cent following the latest investment.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and members of his family own a 29.88 per cent stake in ENIC, with Joe Lewis's family holding the remaining 70.12 per cent.

Daniel Levy has held talks to sell Tottenham stake

It was widely reported last year Levy has been in talks to sell a 10 per cent stake in Tottenham that could value the club at up to £3.75billion.

The development of their 62,850-capacity stadium is believed to have boosted Spurs' value and attractiveness since it opened in 2019.

Football Insider revealed on 2 August Tottenham would have an instant "war chest" to make new signings if Levy can pull off a sale at the reported valuation.

Former Newcastle United chief Amanda Staveley is believed to have been interested in taking a stake in the north London giants, but that deal has so far failed to materialise.

Spurs' revenue rose to a club record £549.6million in their latest accounts for 2022-23 after their commercial revenue increased to £227.7million across the same period.

But their disappointing start to this season led to star defender Cristian Romero criticising the club's lack of spending last month, while a group of fans also held protests against Levy and the ownership group.

Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insiderthe Tottenham chairman is not going to leave the club any time soon despite the recent criticism.

Ange Postecoglou's side currently sit 13th in the Premier League table following their 2-1 loss in the north London derby against Arsenal.
