Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori has reacted to an announcement from the club on social media relating to Declan Rice.
The Gunners look set to finish second in the Premier League for the third season in-a-row, unless they can pull off one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the English top-flight.
Whilst they currently sit 12 points behind league-leaders Liverpool, the Reds have a difficult run of fixtures and Football Insider outlined a potential path to glory for the North London side.
With discontent brewing on Merseyside, as Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly agreed personal terms with Real Madrid, Mikel Arteta and his side will be hoping to capitalise in the coming days and weeks.
Declan Rice named as player-of-the-month nominee
Rice has been nominated for the Premier League’s player-of-the-month award for his stellar performances in March.
The England midfielder rescued a point against rivals Man United with a stunning strike and has been incredibly influential in Arsenal’s form.
Arsenal posted an image of their midfielder to Instagram after his nomination, captioned: “Declan Rice has been nominated for the Premier League's March Player of the Month award”.
The announcement was then liked by marquee summer signing Calafiori, showing his support for the former West Ham man.
Mikel Arteta needs more magic from Declan Rice in title run-in
Football Insider Verdict
It’s not often that a defensive midfielder is relied upon to be a source for goals in a team, much less a top side in the Premier League.
However, Arteta’s Arsenal are no ordinary side and their injury issues have forced the Spaniard into unorthodox tactics.

Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz have all been ruled out for the rest of the season and the summer departure of Chido Obi to United has left the Gunners light up-front.
As such, Rice has been pushed up the pitch and Mikel Merino finds himself in nosebleed territory, playing as a makeshift striker.
The beauty in the chaos of Arteta’s side lies in their ability to keep pushing despite the odds being firmly stacked against them, making for an incredibly interesting final few months of the season.
