Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori was full of praise for Ethan Nwaneri on social media after his performance in their 2-1 Champions League win over Girona on Wednesday (January 29).
Calafiori, 22, was replaced by youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly in the 70th minute as Arsenal secured progression to the round of 16 with a top-eight finish in the new-look Champions League league phase.

Nwaneri is having a breakout season, filling in for injury star Bukayo Saka, starting seven of his 21 games across all competitions, scoring six goals, and providing zero assists in his 641 minutes of action.
The youngster took to Instagram after the win over Girona to share images from the game, which Calafiori promptly responded by saying: “Congrats…keep shining.”
Mikel Arteta’s attention will return to the Premier League as they prepare for a visit from current champions Man City on Sunday (February 2).
