Richarlison shares Everton post after 'huge' Tottenham transfer update

03/29/2025 09:53 AM
Richarlison shared a memory dating back to his days at Everton as rumours swirl around a potential Merseyside return for the Tottenham forward.
The Brazilian’s move to North London has certainly not worked out as expected, making just 80 appearances since 2022 and rarely being fit enough to be considered as the team’s first-choice striker.
Despite being a controversial figure across the Premier League, he was a much-loved figure during his time at Goodison Park, remaining so to this day as he continues to maintain his relationship with the fans.
The Friedkin Group’s takeover has sparked rumours that the former striker could join the Toffees this summer, though Football Insider understands that Everton would struggle to sign Richarlison because of his “huge” asking price.
Everton maintains relationship with Everton faithful with new social media post
Taking to Instagram stories [28 March], Richarlison shared a AI-generated anime image of himself throwing a blue flare after the incident occurred during a key 1-0 league victory over Chelsea in 2022.
All three points in the 1-0 win at Goodison Park helped the Toffees to secure Premier League safety, with Burnley eventually being relegated at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
David Moyes unlikely to begin Everton rebuild with Richarlison transfer
Football Insider verdict
With Premier League safety all but sealed, David Moyes can begin thinking ahead to the 2025/26 campaign and the move to Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium during the summer.
The Friedkins are now in charge at Everton, replacing the controversial figure of Farhad Moshiri, but the new owners are unlikely to splash the cash unless completely necessary.
Premier League standings | Points |
15. Everton | 34 |
16. West Ham | 34 |
17. Wolves | 26 |
18. Ipswich Town | 17 |
Saying that, Moyes will require a new striker once the summer transfer window opens, with Everton being warned against a new deal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja returning to Chelsea.
Beto has experienced a resurgence under the Scot’s leadership, but with only six goals in the Premier League this season, the Toffees are in desperate need of a 20+ goals-a-season forward.
Supporters will be expecting more from the Merseyside club amid a brand-new era, and once again trying to avoid relegation to the Championship cannot be an option next term.
