Robbie Fowler says attacker Liverpool sold for £40m was even better than Michael Owen

Liverpool have had some truly incredible attacking players over the years.
Luis Suarez was one of the best players at Liverpool in the early 2010s, Mohamed Salah is a Ballon d'Or contender right now, while Fernando Torres was one of the greats too.
Speaking to Amazon, Robbie Fowler has been asked to rank and compare some of the great attackers Liverpool have had over the years, and he made an interesting claim about one of his former teammates.
Indeed, when comparing some of Liverpool's great attackers over the years, Fowler made a claim about Michael Owen, suggesting that a modern Liverpool great is actually better than Owen.
Sadio Mane better than Michael Owen
Fowler was asked to compare a number of legendary Liverpool attackers.
Fowler was asked to pick between Michael Owen and Sadio Mane, and despite being one of Owen's great friends, Fowler picked Mane.
"Michael Owen or Sadio Mane?" Fowler was asked.
"See this is a tester already, I love Sadio, I'll go with Sadio," Fowler said.
Interestingly, Fowler and Owen both hailed Mane a few years ago.
As for the rest of Fowler's picks, he had a few more tough decisions to make.

Michael Owen compared to Sadio Mane
Owen and Mane are two bona fide Liverpool legends, and picking between this pair is very difficult.
The stats here are incredibly difficult to decipher too.
Michael Owen at Liverpool | Sadio Mane at Liverpool | |
Games | 297 | 269 |
Goals | 158 | 120 |
Assists | 49 | 42 |
Trophies | 4 | 5 |
Champions League wins | 0 | 1 |
Premier League wins | 0 | 1 |
Golden Boots | 2 | 1 |
Ballon d’Or best finish | 1st | 2nd |
Owen has a better scoring rate than Mane on one hand, but, at the same time, Mane was more successful with Liverpool.
Of course, both players scored some incredibly important goals for Liverpool, Mane scored big goals in big moments in the Champions League, including a goal in a final, while Michael Owen bagged in cup finals for Liverpool too.
Mane would eventually leave Liverpool for £40m to join Bayern Munich, while Owen would head to Real Madrid in 2004.
Both men have incredible legacies at Anfield, but, in Fowler's mind, Mane just about edges this argument.
