Chelsea fans have claimed that Premier League referee Robert Jones is a "cheat" after he refused to send off David Brooks during their recent match.

The two teams battled out a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday (14 January), with Reece James' 95th-minute equaliser rescuing a point for the Blues.

However, Chelsea fans felt that the Cherries should have been playing with 10 men after the 53rd minute due to an off-the-ball incident between Marc Cucurella and David Brooks.

The Bournemouth winger collided with the Spain international when Enzo Maresca's team were attempting to mount a counter attack, which led to Jones being sent to the VAR monitor.

The VAR team recommended a red card for the 27-year-old, but Jones decided to ignore that advice and rewarded a yellow instead.

The draw stopped the Blues from placing more pressure on the teams above them in the Premier League table, leaving them in fourth place.

Chelsea supporters weren't the only people who felt that Brooks should have been sent off, as former FIFA official Keith Hackett told Football Insider that the "violent" action should have resulted in a red card.

The Blues supporters claimed it was an "easy red," while others felt that the foul was "blatant and deliberate."
