Rodrigo Muniz, Matheus Cunha respond to Man City star Savinho's one-word message

Savinho received messages from Premier League rivals following the Man City star’s cameo in Brazil’s 2-1 win over Colombia.
The winger has played an important role in Pep Guardiola‘s plans this season, notching two goals and nine assists in all competitions since arriving from Troyes during the summer.
City have been missing sparks on both flanks since Riyad Mahrez left Man City and Jack Grealish continues to struggle for game time, but that seems to have been fixed by Savinho and Jeremy Doku.
While the 20-year-old only played a handful of minutes in Brazil’s opening match of the international break, he helped oversee a precious win as Vinicius Junior netted a dramatic winner in the ninth minute of added time.
The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva, who could leave Man City this summer, and Doku could not say the same, having suffered defeats in their opening matches of the two-week break.
Savinho continues to dazzle away from Man City
Taking to Instagram [20 March], Savinho simply wrote: “DEUS! [God],” with praying hands, the Brazil flag and lightning emojis, receiving likes from teammates Doku, Phil Foden and Matheus Nunes.
In the comments, Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz replied with love-heart eye emojis while Wolves star Matheus Cunha wrote: “My child, Savio.”
Pep Guardiola’s new signings to lead into new era at the Etihad Stadium
Football Insider verdict
Nico Gonzalez, Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov will all be hoping to help Man City forward after a 2024/25 campaign from hell, having all arrived during the winter transfer window.
Despite an influx of new signings during the winter, Guardiola has not been able to alleviate the pressure on him at Man City, with some believing the Catalonian’s time in Manchester is up.
Champions League qualification is not even a guarantee right now, with City sitting fifth in the Premier League table, and not being in the competitions for the first time since 2011/12 would certainly shift some fans’ views.
Premier League standings | Points |
3. Nottingham Forest | 54 |
4. Chelsea | 49 |
5. Man City | 48 |
6. Newcastle United | 47 |
It could be quite a sad ending for many at the club, with De Bruyne being linked with a Man City exit, so too are John Stones, Silva, Ederson and Mateo Kovacic.
If Guardiola is to stay for one more season, City are likely to undergo a summer of dramatic changes in terms of the squad, with the owners clearly not afraid to splash the cash despite outside noise.
