TBR Football understands that Dusan Vlahovic came up in conversations between Chelsea and Juventus but that’s as far as it’s gone for now, despite the West London club’s long-standing interest.
The two clubs have been discussing a deal for Renato Veiga with the Italians looking to reinforce their defensive options.
Vlahovic is a player the West London club have admired since his time at Fiorentina and given his contract situation in Turin, an exit in the near future is possible.
The Blues are open to signing a striker this month, but that would require other players to be sold before they consider making that move.
Chelsea bring up Dusan Vlahovic’s name in Juventus talks
Despite reports suggesting Chelsea are considering a move for Dusan Vlahovic this month, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that his name was mentioned in conversations with Juventus but nothing more, at this stage.
Vlahovic has been stalling over a new Juventus contract as the £66 million man does not want to take a wage cut which the Bianconeri had been hoping he would do.
The 24-year-old is now ready to leave Italy with his contract running until 2026 and Juve are open to selling Vlahovic.
Arsenal are another club with a long-standing interest in Vlahovic with both clubs having been attentive to his situation this month.
What needs to happen for Chelsea to make Dusan Vlahovic move this month?
TBR Football has been told that all options remain open to Chelsea this month with the need for a top centre-forward at some stage pretty evident.
Nicolas Jackson has blown hot and cold this season having now gone six Premier League games without a goal.
For now, though outgoings remain the priority and they are still looking to move on Christopher Nkunku who has interest from Bayern Munich.
Marc Guiu is a player who Chelsea highly rate and the Spaniard’s presence in West London means that signing another forward this month is not essential.
