TBR Football can exclusively confirm Everton’s stance towards Ernest Nuamah, with the likes of Fulham and Newcastle United also keen.
Nuamah has struggled for game time at Lyon this season, with 18 appearances and just nine starts in all competitions.
With the January transfer window now open, Everton have the opportunity to strengthen their ranks in pursuit of Premier League safety.
Meanwhile, Fulham will be eager to cement a spot in the top half and push for Europe, while Newcastle will want to keep up the momentum in pursuit of top four.
Now, TBR Football can confirm where Everton, Fulham and Newcastle start with regards to Nuamah as a January target.
Everton have held Ernest Nuamah talks while Fulham still keen and Newcastle interested
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has been informed that Nuamah is a player of interest to Everton, who have held talks about a possible deal.
Meanwhile, Fulham still like Nuamah, who was close to signing for the Cottagers in the summer transfer window before the deal fell through as he wanted to remain at Lyon.
TBR Football sources also understand Nuamah has interest from Newcastle.
If they manage to move Miguel Almiron on, they could look at Nuamah as they do want a winger, and the fact he wouldn’t warrant a huge fee is another positive.
Lyon are thought to value Nuamah at £15-20million.
What Nuamah could bring to the Premier League
Nuamah is a 21-year-old winger who has 51 Lyon appearances under his belt and has also won 12 caps for Ghana.
"Ernest is first and foremost a dribbler," Nuamah's former Nordsjaelland coach Flemming Pedersen previously said.
"He is incredibly fast, has a huge acceleration, and a good agility."
Meanwhile, Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig has likened the Everton target to Leroy Sane and Moussa Diaby.
Nuamah has been described as skilful, powerful, and tricky dribbler who’s creative on and off the ball and boasts incredible acceleration.
He’s also difficult to knock off the ball thanks to his build and excellent close control.
This makes him very dangerous in one-on-one situations and when counter-attacking.
The Toffees are currently looking to strengthen their attacking ranks, with Tom Cannon also said to be on Everton’s radar.
