Leeds United are currently focusing on trying to bring a number 10 into the club during the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition ofFootball Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed the Yorkshire giants are going to look at that area of the pitch to strengthen.

If Leeds are going to bring anybody into Elland Road during this window, an attacking midfielder is expected to be the position.

Daniel Farke has identified this as an area of his team that he wants to improve as he continues to try to guide the team back to the Premier League.

Leeds currently sit top of the Championship after 25 games, having only lost three times during that period.

The Whites are the highest scorers in the division with 45 goals, but Farke still wants to strengthen his attacking options.

Leeds United want a number 10 to link up play

Brenden Aaronson has been featured in the number 10 role predominantly this season, with the United States international featuring in every game.

Aaronson has scored seven goals and provided two assists, but Farke still wants to provide himself with further options.

Another attacking midfielder would give more competition for Aaronson as Farke looks to sign someone who can link up play between the midfield and the attack.

Football Insider also revealed that Leeds could be set to lose one of their attacking options as Patrick Bamford is keen to complete a move away from the club.

The experienced striker is attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs after falling out of favour at Elland Road.
