TBR Football understands that Marcus Rashford has informed Barcelona that joining them is his preference and he will wait on their offer ahead of anything else.

Rashford is looking to secure a loan move away from Old Trafford this month with less than a fortnight now remaining in the transfer window.

Various clubs have been discussing a deal for Rashford but Barcelona are now his preferred destination and he is waiting to see if a move can happen.

Barcelona met with Rashford’s camp on Tuesday in Lisbon for ‘exploratory’ talks and the Spanish giants are now keen to take the next step.

Marcus Rashford wants to join Barcelona

Barcelona are ready to hold talks with Manchester United over a deal for Marcus Rashford, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Moving to La Liga has always been Rashford’s first choice and he has now informed Barca that he is prioritising a move to Catalunya.

Rashford’s representatives have spoken to several clubs in the last few weeks, whilst the player has continued to train with United’s first team.

A deal to take Rashford out of Old Trafford is complicated by his huge wages which also include a massive image rights package but that is only a real concern if a permanent move took place and as it stands that is not on the table.

Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has been one of the main instigators in the deal for Rashford and is a confirmed admirer of the player.

The former Barcelona midfielder also made it clear to Rashford’s camp that they have their own concerns about the England international but they are prepared to make an initial move.

How will Barcelona register Marcus Rashford?

TBR Football sources claim that Barcelona believe a loan from abroad will be somewhat easier than registering a £51 million deal for Dani Olmo.

The Spanish giants also believe their financial situation will be partly sorted in the next few weeks through the sale of executive boxes.

They are also looking to move Ansu Fati on in this window and are also considering allowing Eric Garcia out, but that one is not final after he scored against Benfica.
