TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to back Ange Postecoglou and it is considered business as usual despite defeat in the North London derby.

Tottenham have now lost 11 matches in the Premier League this season which equals their worst record for the most losses at this stage of a campaign.

The Lilywhites were beaten 2-1 at the Emirates by their bitter rivals as Mikel Arteta’s side came from behind with goals from Leandro Trossard and an own goal from Dominic Solanke.

But despite Spurs now being 13th in the table after 21 matches and a joint-record number of defeats at this stage, the Australian is still being supported by the club.

Tottenham will keep backing Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham are insisting that Ange Postecoglou remains the man for the job in North London, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

As things stand, Spurs are planning to continue to back the 59-year-old and believe he can turn things around in the capital.

The Lilywhites’ unprecedented injury crisis is a big factor in their poor form with most of their backline having been sidelined for the past few months.

It’s yet to be seen how that stance will change should things continue to deteriorate following yet another loss in the Premier League.

Postecoglou admitted Tottenham were too passive against Arsenal which is a worrying sign that the Spurs boss cannot fire his team up for such an important fixture.

TBR Football reported earlier this month that Thomas Frank and Andoni Iraola were sounded out as targets with the club doing their due diligence in sorting possible replacements.

What is the next challenge for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham?

Tottenham’s next challenge is an away trip to Everton to face a team with a new manager and who just caused Aston Villa issues.

Ollie Watkins scored the only goal of the game as Villa just about managed to squeeze past the Toffees as David Moyes’ team showed encouraging signs under their new boss.

Then, in the next fortnight, Tottenham have two key Europa League matches against Hoffenheim and Elfsborg as they look to break into the top eight of the group stage.
