TBR Football have now received information from Liverpool sources on the situation involving Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid.

The England international sees his contract expire in July – as do Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk – with Liverpool yet to agree new terms with any of the trio.

It remains to be seen what happens regarding the Egypt international and the Netherlands international, although the Liverpool No.66 is nearing a move to Real Madrid.

Now, TBR Football have received information on what Liverpool have done after learning of advancing talks between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid.

Liverpool offered Trent Alexander-Arnold a historic deal

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has been told that Liverpool offered to make their academy graduate the best paid English player in the entire Premier League in a bid to keep him away from Real Madrid.

We understand the Reds have been kept informed throughout this process, with Alexander-Arnold nor Real Madrid going behind Liverpool’s back in any sense.

TBR Football are aware Liverpool left their record-breaking contract offer on the table in the event of the 26-year-old deciding to stay at Anfield, although that does not seem to be happening.

An agreement between Alexander-Arnold, who Ashley Cole feels for, and Real Madrid is believed to be complete, with all parties simply agreeing not to go public on the matter until this summer.

What has Trent Alexander-Arnold said about his future?

Speaking back in September, the man from West Derby effectively told everybody how this situation would play out – mostly in the shadows.

Alexander-Arnold told The Athletic: “Look, I have been at the club 20 years now. I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public. This one won't be either.

“The most important thing is trophies. I want to win trophies. I'm a player who is highly motivated by winning things and being elite. That's probably the main factor of anything. If you have a personality that's elite, who wants to win and will do anything to win, then that's what drives them.”

TBR Football understand Arne Slot wants Jeremie Frimpong as a replacement for Alexander-Arnold.
