Stefan Borson: Chelsea could afford '£150m' deal to sign Newcastle star

Chelsea and Arsenal are the only two clubs who could afford to sign Newcastle United star Alexander Isak for £150million in the summer transfer window.
That is the view of finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider nobody would be able to pay the Tyneside club's asking price for the Sweden international in January.
Chelsea and Arsenal have both been credited with an interest in Isak following his impressive form since arriving at St James' Park for a club-record £63million fee from Real Sociedad in 2022.
Football Insider revealed on 5 January Arsenal have made the 25-year-old their top priority for the summer window.
But the striker, who has scored 14 goals in 21 games this season, is under contract until 2028 and is understood to be valued at around £150million.
Chelsea deal for Alexander Isak depends on PSR situation
Borson suggested Chelsea could look to agree a deal for Isak in the summer if they manage to resolve their profit and sustainability (PSR) issues.
He told Football Insider: "How many teams can really afford the fee that would be required on Isak if it was £120-150million?
"There are very few clubs and nobody would do a deal of that size in January, in my view.
"Maybe if Chelsea have managed to find the intra-group deals to get themselves in a safe position from a PSR perspective, maybe that's something they would look at in the summer.
"But I cannot see that they could do it before 30 June.
"Who else is going to spend £150million? Arsenal are probably the only team that could do that deal in world football, assuming that Isak is not going to Saudi Arabia.
"That's the problem with those deals. There are just so few clubs that have the resources to do those deals.
"If you have got a market of one or two clubs in the world, you have clearly got an issue in trying to sell a player if you want to do it."
