Manchester City are considering a move for Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Premier League champions are looking to replace Kevin De Bruyne after it's been confirmed he will leave the Etihad at the end of his contract on 30 June.

Football Insider revealed on 13 April Forest are keen to open talks with Gibbs-White over a potential new deal.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side will do everything they can to keep the 25-year-old, who is currently out of contract in June 2027.

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Pep Guardiola’s side will likely have to pay £100million to sign Gibbs-White if Forest qualify for the Champions League this season.

The England international has registered five goals and nine assists in 31 appearances this season, with Forest currently sitting third in the Premier League table, two points above fifth-place Man City.

There are five Champions League spots available to top-flight clubs due to England's coefficient ranking.

Nottingham Forest could be open to Morgan Gibbs-White sale

Borson suggested Forest could be more open to selling Gibbs-White if they fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.

He told Football Insider: "I think Morgan Gibbs-White has got two years left on his contract.

"Forest are going to be reluctant to lose Gibbs-White, so you’re starting to think is it going to need a fee close to £100million again?

"He doesn’t feel like a £100million player to me.

"But that’s what it might take to be able to get him out of Nottingham Forest just because they don’t have to sell.

"If they were to miss out on Champions League, that may lead to them being more interested in selling Gibbs-White.

"But if they qualify for the Champions League, it feels to me like a £100million deal or you can forget about it."

Tottenham stance revealed after Man City’s Destiny Udogie swoop

Football Insider revealed on 16 April Tottenham are confident of keeping left-back Destiny Udogie at the club despite reported interest from Man City.

Guardiola's side will be in the market for a new marquee left-back signing this summer, with youngster Nico O'Reilly currently starting in that position.

However, Spurs are confident Udogie's long-term contract, which runs until June 2030, will give them sufficient leverage to reject bids in the upcoming transfer window.
