Chelsea could have some key decisions to make in the summer transfer window as they look to balance the books following their heavy spending.
BlueCo, which is spearheaded by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, has spent more than £1.5billion on new signings since taking over in May 2022.
Moises Caicedo is Chelsea's most expensive signing, having joined from Brighton for £115million in August 2023.
The Ecuador international has played a key role under Enzo Maresca this season, starting in 37 of his 38 appearances as the London giants go in pursuit of a return to Champions League football.
The Telegraph reported on 16 April Caicedo is a "dream target" for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr this summer as they look to strengthen their midfield options.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football InsiderChelsea are unlikely to sell Caicedo due to his importance to the team.
The 23-year-old is under contract until 2031 after signing an eight-year deal at Stamford Bridge following his arrival from Brighton.
Chelsea currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, with five Champions League spots on offer to top-flight clubs this season.
Chelsea told to focus on selling fringe players
Borson insisted Chelsea need to focus on selling some of their fringe players this summer instead of first-team stars like Caicedo.
He told Football Insider: "I think it’s hard to see that they would take a loss on Caicedo.
"I don’t think they’ll sell him. I think he’s seen as being a key player. He plays every week. I think the fans think that he’s a pretty good player.
"Because of the way that the fee is amortised over the eight years, his net value doesn’t fall as fast as it might do if it were amortised over five years, so the profit might not be that significant.
"But as I say, I think it’s unlikely that that’s the key sale.
"He’s a player that they’re going to want to build a team around as opposed to sell on.
"I think they need to be looking at other players really, particularly the fringe players."

Enzo Maresca sack update emerges at Chelsea
Football Insider revealed on 21 April Maresca has the backing of the Chelsea board despite the recent unrest among the fans.
Sources say Stamford Bridge chiefs see the 45-year-old as the man to take the club forward despite their patchy run of form.
Maresca left Leicester City to join Chelsea last summer, having signed a contract running until June 2029.
