TBR Football exclusively revealed Tottenham’s advantage over Juventus in signing Kolo Muani was that they were willing to accept a loan deal that involved an option-to-buy.

However, Juventus have beaten Tottenham to Kolo Muani’s addition — with the Frenchman expected to join Thiago Motta’s side on a loan deal with no option or obligation to buy until the end of the season.

Spurs were in desperate need of a dynamic forward like Randal Kolo Muani — with Dejan Kulusevski looking like their only consistently reliable attacker for much of the ongoing campaign.

Kolo Muani was Tottenham’s top target due to his versatility — being able to play as a number nine as well as on the left-wing.

Ange Postecoglou was keen on a versatile forward and last season, the 26-year-old made 15 appearances up front, eight on the right-wing and five on the left-wing in Ligue 1 — showcasing how much of a useful tactical weapon he can be.

Why Randal Kolo Muani chose Juventus loan over Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that the Lilywhites’ hierarchy can make his job easier by bringing in an alternative to the French international as Tottenham are placed as low as 13th in the Premier League table.

Otherwise, other teams could further bridge the gap between themselves and Spurs by doing business in the winter window.

Journalist Fabrice Hawkins has revealed that ultimately, the reason why Juventus beat Tottenham in the pursuit for Kolo Muani is due to Thiago Motta winning his heart after a conversation took place between the pair.

“Until the last moment, Tottenham tried to convince Randal Kolo Muani who was finally seduced by Thiago Motta’s speech. The striker will relaunch in Italy as revealed. He will play for Juventus during the next 6 months.”

TBR Football confirmed Arsenal were offered Kolo Muani on loan as well — which goes to show that a number of clubs had the chance to secure his services.

Tottenham were pushing hard to sign Kolo Muani as well but Thiago Motta seemingly has the gift of the gab and Juventus will be glad that their manager can convince high-profile players to head to Turin.

As for Spurs, it would come as no surprise if they were scouring through alternatives at this present moment.

A recent report has suggested the Lilywhites have an alternative in mind.

Tottenham eyeing Evann Guessand as Randal Kolo Muani alternative

Tottenham are monitoring Evann Guessand as they look to bolster their attack this month.

However, Spurs have plenty of competition from fellow Premier League clubs.

The report states that the Hammers have been scouting the Ivorian since December.

But considering Kolo Muani’s pedigree, Spurs have every reason to be disappointed that he looks Juventus-bound.
