'The one thing I'll reiterate': Gary Lineker delivers fresh warning to Everton

Everton are currently in pursuit of a new manager after parting company Sean Dyche on Thursday.
The Toffees sacked Sean Dyche after a run of just one win from their last 11 games left them a point above the Premier League relegation zone.
Everton made the decision just hours before Everton’s FA Cup third-round tie at Peterborough, which they won 2-0.
Former Everton forward Gary Lineker has now delivered a warning to the Toffees in wake of sacking Dyche.

Gary Lineker worries Everton decision to sack Sean Dyche is a ‘gamble’
Lineker, speaking to Micah Richards and Alan Shearer on The Rest Is Football, described Everton’s decision as a “gamble”.
Lineker claimed that Dyche seemed like he would’ve done enough to keep the Toffees up, even if the football was not easy on the eye.
And while there may be a new manager bounce, Lineker warned that, should this fail to occur, Everton may find themselves in a worse position.
“It’s a gamble though, this, as you said, isn’t it,” Lineker said to Richards.
“I think we’ve said, all three of us when we do our predictions, we all said that Everton will be okay, they’ll stay up because – not in spite of, because – of Sean Dyche.
“His football is not necessarily particularly pleasing in on the eye, I think a lot of Everton fans have found it difficult, they’ve been a tough watch the last few weeks, hardly scoring any goals.
“But the one thing I’ll reiterate is that we all thought that, even despite that lack of form, they managed to get draws against some of the big teams.
“And (now) you’re bringing in someone new, and that might work, there might be a bounce.
“But if it doesn’t, you might end up in a situation where you’re slightly more likely to go down then perhaps you would have been under your previous manager.”

On Thursday, TBR Football revealed that David Moyes is on course to return to Goodison Park as manager.
Talks are ongoing in person on Friday and Everton hope to finalise a deal with Moyes in the next 24 hours, according to TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.
The Friedkin Group were initially looking at a short-term deal, but talks have taken place and TBR Football has been told that an 18-month term is now being discussed.
