Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation is something that needs to be resolved at Liverpool, with the Englishman getting better and better under Arne Slot.

Arne Slot‘s new system at Liverpool has really allowed Trent Alexander-Arnold to come into his own.

The switch to being slightly more defensive has seen Liverpool concede just the one goal in their opening four Premier League games.

However, there’s now an issue when it comes to a few contracts at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah, Trent and Virgil van Dijk all out of contract in June.

It has been claimed that Salah’s contract situation isn’t near to being resolved with a particular date for talks not set yet.

Trent’s contract situation is now starting to become a lot clearer, as Matteo Moretto has provided his latest update on the defender…

The latest on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation

Emmanuel Petit has warned Trent not to leave Liverpool, stating that it would be a mistake.

Fabrizio Romano recently stated that Liverpool and Trent still have a decision to make, with talks to take place at some point in the near future.

Now, Matteo Moretto has provided an update on the situation of Trent, when talking to Caught Offside.

"Jude Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold know each other very well,"

"Real Madrid have not made an official offer to his agents or anything like that, and the truth is Liverpool have not got that far either.

"Before they make a financial offer, their talks with Alexander-Arnold's camp will focus on deciding whether he wants to stay at the club or not, and then negotiate on finances."

The big rumour Mark Lawrenson is hearing about Trent Alexander-Arnold

Mark Lawrenson is worried about the big rumour swirling on Merseyside about Trent and Jude Bellingham.

"With Van Dijk I'm not sure, and with Trent, the big rumour here on Merseyside is that his big mate is playing for Real Madrid isn't he?

“And he could walk out the door next summer and play for Real Madrid and get however many millions, that's a bit of a worry.”

Trent is a scouser through and through; he lives and breathes for Liverpool, so for him to leave it would take a big mess up on the Anfield club’s side.

The fact that he spent the summer on holiday with Jude Bellingham probably hasn’t helped things, but for all we know they could just be good friends, nothing to do with tapping him up.
