Liverpool are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League right now after a 2-1 win against Chelsea at the weekend.

Arne Slot's side have had a brilliant start to the season, but there's still this feeling that they're not amongst the favourites for the title.

Indeed, Arsenal and Manchester City are being spoken about as the two title favourites, and after two seasons of duking it out at the top, it's not hard to understand why.

However, after an incredibly bright start, Liverpool are creeping into this conversation more and more.

However, speaking on BBC 606, Chris Sutton has shared his verdict on where Liverpool will finish this season, and he's not too high on the Merseyside club.

Chris Sutton tips Liverpool to finish third

Sutton shared his verdict on where Liverpool will finish this season.

At the beginning of the season, Sutton tipped Manchester City to win the league and Arsenal to finish second, and he's sticking with that verdict.

Indeed, Sutton has tipped Liverpool to finish third behind both City and Arsenal respectively.

"I think Liverpool will finish third. I’m not going to change my prediction at the start of the season, but they are growing on me," Sutton said.

"Manchester City, I think, will win it. And I had Arsenal in second place, but I just thought Liverpool, because of the change of manager, they would have had a slower start. I’m repeating myself now.

"But, you know, they’ve really impressed."

Sutton rates Liverpool highly

Sutton says that he doesn't think Liverpool will win the league, but he does rate the Reds very highly.

Indeed, Sutton predicts every Premier League game each week for his column on the BBC, and so far, he's yet to predict a Liverpool loss.

Sutton tipped Liverpool to beat Chelsea at the weekend, while he also correctly predicted that Liverpool would beat Manchester United in September.

Liverpool are going at title-winning pace at the moment, and while Sutton may not fancy the Reds to get over the line, right now, a win against Arsenal next week could lead to the title picture changing.

This is certainly going to be an exciting title race as multiple teams are vying to win the Premier League this year after four years worth of Manchester City dominance.
