The international break has come at the wrong time for Leeds United, who seemed like they were starting to build up ahead of steam in the Championship.

Daniel Farke had his side playing some excellent football prior to the international break as the Whites dominated Hull City at Elland Road.

Goals from Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe were enough to seal the points.

The win wasn’t the only thing to take away from the game, as a couple of Leeds United‘s new signings shone. Manor Solomon and Largie Ramazani looked very bright, and the former even grabbed an assist.

Many may have thought that Crysencio Summerville’s exit would negatively impacted Leeds’ creativity in the final third, but Farke has found a way.

One player who’s been pivotal in the final third also contributed for his country last night…

Mateo Joseph praised by Spanish media for goal in Spain Under-21s vs Scotland Under-21s

Mateo Joseph has been one of Leeds’s shining lights so far this season, bagging a goal and two assists already in the Championship.

It appears as if his form has carried over onto the international stage. He was at it again in the second half for the Spanish Under-21 side, finishing smartly from a cutback to score the winning goal.

This led to Spanish TV station Teledeporte sharing footage of the goal and stating, ‘This kid has some stuff’.

The Spaniard, who joined Leeds for £900k, came on in the 66th minute and had an instant impact, scoring just over 2 minutes later.

How are Leeds’ next three matches looking in the Championship?

Leeds face a tough run of five games in the Championship once the international break is over.

First up is a crunch clash with Scott Parker’s Burnley who currently sit just one point behind the Whites.

The next five games after that one aren’t exactly easy either, as Cardiff City, Coventry City, Norwich City, Sunderland, and Sheffield United are all on the agenda.

This next period is crucial in Leeds’ promotion push. A bad run of results gives them an awful lot to do, despite the fact that it is still the early stages of the season.
