Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have a big decision to make if they can't agree on the club's stadium plans.
The relationship between the Stamford Bridge chiefs was understood to have deteriorated earlier this season, with the pair reportedly looking to buy each other out.
The takeover talk has gone quiet in recent months as Chelsea go in pursuit of a return to Champions League football for next season.
However, in an interview with Bloomberg on 24 March, Boehly admitted the Chelsea owners could go their separate ways if they can't agree on the future of Stamford Bridge.
The London giants are considering plans to either leave their existing stadium or expand, with Earl's Court viewed as a possible location for a new facility.
Everton's former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – revealed the stadium plans are a "big issue" for Chelsea as the opportunities to relocate in west London are limited.
Newcastle United, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton have all made moves to increase capacity in recent months and years.
Wyness previously told Football Insider Arsenal are looking to add a third tier at the Emirates in a similar design to Barcelona's Nou Camp.
Chelsea chief wants to green-light Earl’s Court stadium move
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness suggested Boehly wants to move into a new stadium at Earl's Court.
He told Football Insider's Inside Track podcast: "It’s interesting. This has become almost a barometer of the temperature in terms of the relationship between Todd Boehly, Clearlake and Behdad Eghbali, the other partner.
"There was a lot of talk about them falling out earlier and then the sort of results for Chelsea came to be a little bit better and the team was going up the league and things calmed down.
"It seemed like peace was going to break out.
"Now, the Chelsea stadium is a big issue and it’s been a big issue in terms of not only because of the Chelsea Pitch Owners Association, which is a crucial factor there, but the actual opportunity in west London where they could relocate.
"West London is a very difficult place to find big enough space for a new stadium.
"Earl’s Court has always been the favourite and that’s the one that I believe Todd Boehly was prepared to try and move there."

Raheem Sterling wants to agree permanent Chelsea exit
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football InsiderRaheem Sterling wants to join another Premier League club as he is "certain" to leave Stamford Bridge.
However, there is currently a lack of interest from top-flight sides following his disappointing loan spell at Arsenal.
Arsenal are concerned about Sterling's performances, with the 30-year-old registering just one goal and four assists in 23 appearances this season.
