Rangers are currently in a state of flux after sacking Philippe Clement after the weekend's poor result against St Mirren.

The Scottish giants were beaten 2-0 by St Mirren and failed to capitalise on Celtic losing which ultimately led to Clement being fired.

It was a decision that had been coming as the Belgian coach was under mounting pressure due to frustrations from supporters.

The club have appointed former captain Barry Ferguson as the new manager until the end of the season, as he looks to steady the ship at Ibrox.

Rangers currently sit 13 points behind their Old Firm rivals in the Scottish Premiership and are already knocked out of the Scottish FA Cup.

Todd Cantwell took a dig at his former manager and dragged James Tavernier into it

Former Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell seemingly reacted to the news on Instagram by sharing an image of a song called "Taliban" while capturing it: "Suns out so is our tune James Tavernier."

The 26-year-old left Ibrox in the summer to join Blackburn Rovers after submitting a transfer request following a fallout with Clement.

Cantwell's decision to bring the Rangers club captain into it hasn't gone down well with fans, who have already called for Tavernier to be sold in the summer.

Rangers fans are disgusted with Cantwell's actions

Whether Rangers fans wanted Clement to be fired or not, they are universal in their disgust at Cantwell's post.

Fans have taken aim at the former Gers midfielder, while also expressing their frustrations at Tavernier and the glimpse this post has given into the dressing room.

He absolutely should be moved on in the summer, can't be allowed to see out his remaining year.
People say the captains role is overstated now but for me a senior player should lead by example, get the players fired up for every game & set the standards.
He doesn't do that imo

The Cantwell dig on instagram pretty much backs up Tav leading the player revolt against Clement and the form nosedive for a bunch of players.
Those type of players should never be at Rangers, let alone club captain.
You play for the badge, not for the manager.
