Arsenal and Liverpool played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners looked set to move within just a point of the Reds as they led 2-1 heading into the final ten minutes, only for Mohamed Salah to equalise and ensure Liverpool remained second in the Premier League.

Arne Slot will undoubtedly be proud of his side for fighting back from behind – not once, but twice.

However, Alan Shearer has now suggested there is one Liverpool player who the Dutchman will not have been too pleased with after Sunday’s draw at Arsenal.

Alan Shearer says Liverpool No.26 Andy Robertson had a “torrid afternoon” against Arsenal

The Premier League’s all-time record goalscorer has now said that the Scotland international struggled hugely against Bukayo Saka.

When writing his Premier League Team of the Week, Shearer put: “Back in the line-up, back in the goals. He gave Andy Robertson a torrid afternoon and created something from nothing with his brilliant opening strike.”

As SofaScore shows, the Liverpool No.26 was given the worst rating of any outfield player on the pitch with a ranking of just 6.4 – before Slot replaced him with Kostas Tsimikas in the 63rd minute.

Robertson failed to deliver a single cross, found himself dribbled past on two occasions – one of which saw Saka open the scoring – while also losing possession nine times, on a day where he looked lightyears off the defender many regarded as the best in his position not too long ago.

Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes may be preparing to replace Robertson

Judging by recent reports, Liverpool may already be planning to replace the 30-year-old.

Liverpool are said to be keen on signing Antonee Robinson from Fulham, with the 27-year-old United States international now regularly impressing for the Cottagers.

More recently, Liverpool have been linked with Wolves No.3 Rayan Ait-Nouri, another left-back who is ready to step straight into the starting XI at Anfield, having become a Premier League regular too.

These rumours are even more interesting when you consider Liverpool are open to selling Tsimikas, which suggests any new left-back who arrives at Anfield would most likely replace Robertson rather than become a backup.
