There was more doom and gloom surrounding Tottenham Hotspur as they lost 2-1 to Newcastle United.

Tottenham took an early lead just four minutes into the clash after Dominic Solanke scored an excellent header just four minutes into proceedings.

However, Newcastle responded just two minutes later, courtesy of Anthony Gordon after Joelinton’s handball was deemed allowable as VAR felt his hand was by his side in a natural position.

Later on in the first half, Alexander Isak, labelled “unbelievable” by Paul Merson scored the winning goal to seal the Magpies’ sixth league win in a row.

Ange Postecoglou seemed visibly upset after the contest as Spurs’ season continues to go from bad to worse after Eddie Howe’s side beat them away from home.

But on Sunday, Tottenham gave Postecoglou a reason to smile by announcing the signing of Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague for £12.5 million (Sky Sports).

Tottenham fans left delighted about Antonin Kinsky signing

Spurs fans were over the moon about Kinsky’s signing, who will now compete with Fraser Forster for a starting place in the side this season.

One Tottenham supporter praised the club for showing their ambition in the January transfer market by sealing the Czechia goalkeeper’s signing so early into the window.

“It’s official!!! Signed, sealed and delivered! An early signing shows intent in January from the club. Let's keep it going. COYS.”

Another Tottenham fan had the same message, writing on X: “Starting the business early, let’s gooo!”

A third Lilywhites supporter remarked: “Nice and quick, guessing Kinsky was on the list for the summer. Expecting his debut vs Tamworth.”

Other Spurs fans felt Kinsky’s signing is a top-quality one.

“Vicario, Kinsky, [Brandon] Austin. That should at least mean the GK position is sorted for the foreseeable future.”

Another Tottenham fan said: “Hell yeah. Super excited! Hopefully pushes Vicario and gives us good second option. The compilation videos looked great!”

Finally, sixth Tottenham fan claimed: “A backup GK who has both Champions League and Europa experience at age of 21 for €15 million. Steal imo. Welcome Antonin.”

Antonin Kinsky named the best Czech goalkeeper since Petr Cech

Tottenham’s latest move could be a sign that they are willing to back Ange Postecoglou in the transfer market. Spurs’ board still support Postecoglou and so do the players despite their struggles this season.

Czech football expert Peter Novak claimed Kinsky is the best goalkeeper the country have produced since Petr Cech.

“I have a strong opinion on this. Slavia's Antonín Kinský (21) is already the best Czech goalkeeper. And our biggest goalkeeping talent since Petr Cech.”

“Moreover, he's the reason why Slavia will win the title, despite their uninspiring performance against Slovan. Pure brilliance.”

Tottenham fans’ excitement seems fair as Kinsky looks like a top talent.
